Proposed Market Rate Tuition Increases

Florida State University gives public notice of proposed increases to market rate tuition for the Master of Science in Risk Management and Insurance, the Master of Science in Management Information Systems, and the Master of Business Administration, effective Fall 2027. Details on the proposed increases are available at the bottom of this page.

The FSU Board of Trustees will consider the proposal at its October 30th, 2027 meeting (meeting dates and times are subject to change). Continue to monitor the Board of Trustees website, https://trustees.fsu.edu/meetings, for potential changes to the next meeting date and time.

Rationale and Use of Funds

  • Master of Science in Risk Management and Insurance – The proposed increase sustains a high-quality, market-responsive program by supporting continuous curriculum updates, competitive faculty and staff salaries, and the technology and instructional support required for online and technology-enabled courses. It will also fund recruitment and marketing to build awareness of career-relevant offerings such as business analytics.
  • Master of Science in Management Information Systems – The proposed increase supports ongoing course redesign that incorporates emerging technologies and current industry practices, along with the rising cost of recruiting and retaining qualified faculty, advisors, and career-support staff. Funds will also strengthen the learning technology, accessibility, and technical support that students rely on, as well as recruitment efforts in areas such as business analytics.
  • Master of Business Administration – The proposed increase addresses rising personnel costs and inflation-driven increases in instructional technology and support costs. It will also help the College promote new curricular options in areas such as healthcare administration, alternative investments, analytics, and leadership.

In accordance with state law, this notice will be emailed to all enrolled students.
